Piano Four Hands Competition

September 21-22, 2010
No age limit.
Free repertoire, including one or more movements of

Grieg: Norwegian Dances, Symphonic Dances, Peer Gynt Suite I, Peer Gynt Suite II, Ouverture "In Autumn" op. 11, or any other composition by Grieg for four hands

and

a new piece (durata 4 min) by the Norwegian composer Kjell Mørk Karlsen specially composed     for the competition. The score can be downloaded here.

Program

  • 1st Round, September 21, from 9 am to 1 pm (The Oslo Music Teachers' Society, Hurum Hall, Josefinesgate 15, entrance Underhaugsgata): The contestants play 25 minutes from their repertoire, including the new piece by Kjell Mørk Karlsen.
  • 2nd Round, September 22, from 9 am to 1 pm (The Oslo Music Teachers' Society, Hurum Hall, Josefinesgate 15, entrance Underhaugsgata): The contestants play 25 minutes from their repertoire. Repetition of pieces from the 1st round is allowed.
  • Finale, September 22, from 6 pm to 9 pm (Norwegian Academy of Music, Levin Hall, Slemdalsveien 11): The contestants play 50 minutes in total, including Grieg and Kjell Mørk Karlsen. Repetition of pieces from the 1st and 2nd rounds is allowed.
